Petit Lapin’s First Anniversary

Posted on March 19, 2015 by in News

I always knew that time flies by fast, but not as fast as the first year of Petit Lapin. Yes, Pâtisserie Petit Lapin, my “third” baby, is exactly 1 year old since march 18! I will never forget the stress I had last year during its official opening. We faced technical problems that delayed the opening until 3 o’clock in the afternoon. We had not sold a lot that day, but I was still very happy with the result as at the end of the day, I received a surprise visit from my son, Ethan. He, whom is multi-allergic, was finally able to satisfy his sweet tooth in a bakery without any worries! He chose and enjoyed his mini chocolate cupcake and chocolate donut with great joy! I was so happy! This joy grew after the appearance of the first article on Petit Lapin in Coup de pouce, and it has intensified more with the joy of other children and their parents (especially mothers) in regards to the existence of Petit Lapin. Seeing others happy is indeed my greatest reward and what makes me happy!

To get to where Petit Lapin is today required a great team. I want to thank all my wonderful employees. You are my right arm and my left arm. Without you all, Petit Lapin would not be able to allow its customers to satisfy their sweet tooth without worries.

I would like to also thank my wonderful boys: Ethan and Dustin. Ethan is my greatest inspiration! Without him, there wouldn’t be Petit Lapin. Dustin is my angel! He was only a month old at the opening of Petit Lapin. He was a wonderful and happy baby who never cried. Thanks to him, I was able to focus on Petit Lapin.

I cannot forget to thank my dear and loving husband, my family and my friends. They gave me their time, patience and constant support.

A big thank you to my wonderful customers, without whom Petit Lapin could not have any success! The number of customers continue to grow and we’re really lucky to have you all. I want to thank each and every one of you for helping spread the word about our bakery. Each compliment, no matter how little it may seem, is very dear to us. I still take so much pride and joy when someone tells me they love everything about Petit Lapin and are so thankful that we exist.

Finally, I want to thank every one of you (staff, customers, family and friends) for your patience and understanding throughout the process that led me to create this unique bakery, which aims to be safe and worry free for all. Deciding to open and expand Petit Lapin were not easy decisions, but your unconditional support was key. The world of allergen-friendly baking is still very mysterious, but that is also what makes it so fascinating! When I hear a client (with allergies to eggs and nuts) tell me that this is the first time she eats a macaron in her life or when a mom tells me that this is the first birthday cake her multi-allergic child has, it reminds me the main reason for our existence which is to create a happy place where the growing number of people with food allergies or ”alternative” diets can have a treat and not have to worry about cross-contamination, while also not having to compromise on taste or aesthetics.
All your support and encouragements are so precious! We promise you beautiful future projects for the second year of Petit Lapin and we look forward to keep you posted on them. Thank you being a part of our sweet adventure and hope to see you all at Ogilvy for Petit Lapin’s first pop-up shop!
